The latest Republican assault on the President and the Constitution was doomed to failure, but the tea-bagger radicals that dominate the GOP continued to believe the wild and weird “reality” that is peddled as truth in the rightwing echo-chamber.
The President learned from the mistakes of the past two years – there is no Republican position or “deal” that can be trusted. In the latest round of GOP public demagoguery, led by self-deluded ideologues like Ted Cruz, the President could win simply by refusing to fight.
The tea-baggers of Gather love to proclaim to one another (the only way in which their weird alternative reality can be validated) that Obama is a “weak President”. When he out-maneuvers the silly opposition yet again, then “Obama is a dictator and a tyrant”.
There is no consistency or reasonableness to the tea-bagger; the "Obama" they hate/fear/demean/bewail etc. is entirely divorced from the real person, but reflects the fear, anxiety, and bigotry at the core of the tea-bagger movement.
After the contradictions, reversals, denials, lies, and blunders that the tea-baggers presented during the last month, there is no sane and well-adjusted American who sees any way that the tea-bag dimwits can participate in effective government.
After the House tea-baggers captiulated unilaterally to the political reality it had denied, no extravagant public self-congratulation and boasting can disguise the impotence that lies at the root of tea-bagger fury.
No amount of heavy drinking or tanning solution can rescue John Boehner from total irrelevance.
The visible fright that is evident in the changing positions of the new GOP Congressmen from gerrymandered seats in Pennsylvania and Virginia gives hope for the nation when the House turns over next year.
