The three stooges representing the Tea-Bagger Gang in the US Senate, Rubio, Paul, and Cruz refused tonight to vote for the Senate bill to re-open the government. The bill passed, nevertheless, on a vote of 81-18.
Cruz, who is loathed by a decisive majority of US voters, remains a hero to the kind of misfit who believes the myths repeated endlessly as truth in the right-wing echo chamber. His speech regarding his stupendous failure to do anything to retard the adoption of Obamacare was characterized by the usual fact-less pronouncements and fabrications about the cost of the Affordable Care Act, the alleged impact of the bill on business, and the supposed horrors still to come when more Americans have access to health insurance.
Ignorance and mendacity are highly-prized among tea-baggers. In the last month alone, Cruz reaped $800 K in individual contributions to his personal campaign fund. He can remain the undisputed leader of the most self-deluded faction of the Party of Stupid.
For the past month, rational Americans recognized that the national tea-bag tantrum could not prevail. Yet, the isolated and Fox-fed sheep who believe shysters like Ted Cruz still believe that they represent a majority of Americans and that their stupidity must be “respected”.
The proud and defiant House members who demonstrated that they are willing to stoop to any level for partisan ends, are expected to pass the Senate-crafted bill later tonight. It is a steep fall for the tea-baggers whose grandiose and pretentious self-congratulation has been a staple of GOP discourse for far too long.
It is unlikelly, but these intellectual dwarves of the Tea Bag party might learn humility and might recognize the rational world in which most Americans live.
